A high quality life is one with choice, where one can pursue one's interests and dreams. We wish this for everyone. For those with developmental disabilities, achieving this can be a challenge, and supporters look for ways to help make this happen. Haadd is dedicated to providing such support. Individualized Funding Everyone should have control over decisions about where they live, whom they live with and how they spend their time. Individualized funding enables these choices to become real options for individuals who require support. Supported by family and friends, the person needing assistance should have access to and control of funds allocated to their support. Circles of SupportAn important part of planning for the future is acknowledging that every individual needs the support of people in the community - a circle of family and friends who are close enough to know and understand his or her needs. Most of us naturally gather such a circle throughout our lives; our members are rarely able to do this without assistance.Haadd itself is a circle of support for all its members. One of our most important activities has been to help our members gather personal circles of support. |
